How do we decide what makes it onto FILTERRR? While there’s a bit of instinct involved, we follow a few clear principles:
We champion the indie web. Big companies occasionally make cool things, but we focus on small, independent creators and projects wherever possible.
Links should be timeless — just as interesting a year from now as they are today. We aim for content with lasting value, not fleeting trends.
No clickbait, dark patterns, or manipulative tricks. If it’s designed to hijack your attention, it’s not for us.
We look for content that’s open to everyone — not geofenced, not exclusive to certain groups. We also highlight creators and projects that support diversity and inclusion.
Every link on FILTERRR is something we’ve actually explored ourselves. If it’s here, we’ve tried it and found it worthwhile.
Sometimes we include clearly marked affiliate links or sponsored content to support the site. These are held to the same standards as everything else — often, they’re tools we use regularly ourselves and genuinely recommend. Look out for the “Tools We Use” tag on those.
Got a link you think deserves to be featured? Share it with us here. Be sure to take a look at our standards for inclusion.
Welcome to FILTERRR — a curated collection of the most creative, curious and thoughtful corners of the internet.
We’re just getting started so you might notice a few quirks with the site but, for the most part, we’re up and running. Feel free to explore and give us a bookmark if you like what you see.
